Christmas Cabin Trip 2021

I've always wanted to spend the holidays in a cozy cabin in the woods. As a teen, my family and I would visit Mt. Rainer. One year we even stayed in a log cabin equipped with all of the necessities.

Why Holland, Michigan?

Brandon and I loved the idea of being able to visit family during Christmas vacation. Holland provided the right atmosphere, location, and price for our family. We love camping and renting a cabin seemed like the perfect opportunity.

What did we pack?

Luckily the cabin came fully stocked with linen, towels, and kitchen tools. The full-sized kitchen came in handy for hosting Christmas dinner. Fortunately, we just packed our usual gear.

What did we do?

Our main objective was to visit friends and family on this trip. We did visit Rockford to see Christmas lights. Rockford is a small town outside of Grand Rapids. It reminded me of a Hallmark Christmas movie.

Bakery

Deboer Bakkerij:

We ate at a delicious bakery. https://www.deboerbakery.com/menu Deboer Bakkerij located in Holland, Michigan. We ordered breakfast sandwiches, donughts and the girls had Christmas cookies. The coffee was delicious, the service was delightful and the location was nostalgic.

We visited the tulip garden in Holland. We walked the snow covered paths and learned about the history of the wonderful community. Hopefully we will get to come back to participate in the tulip festivities. https://www.holland.org/events/tulip-festival

Overall I would recommend a Christmas cabin stay for any semi-active family. Its the best of both worlds; camping and a hotel visit. Holland was absolutely wonderful, we made lots of family memories and ate lots of pastries.

Sincerely,Schwartz
